Skills are broad categories of trained abilities that your character posesses. Skills have a rank of at least one which indicate how many dice are rolled when a test of that skill are made.
A rank of 1 in a skill indicates no training in that skill. At character creation, you have a 1 in every skill, and are then presented with a number of points to increase your rank. Experience points also allow you to buy more ranks in a skill up to a maximum rank of 4, though your race and perks may change how many ranks you can buy total.
Art: The practice of creative pursuits such as painting, origami and sculpture.
Athletics: Running, jumping, swimming, climbing trees: anything requiring physical exertion that isn’t fighting.
Combat: Skill with weapons as well as combat awareness.
Defense: Ability to defend one’s self against a varietyof attacks and conditions.
Endurance: Ability to withstand physical, physiological or psychological trauma, as well as concentration.
Engineering: Crafting, building, jury-rigging, etc.
Hacking: Use, novice and expert, of computer systems.
Investigation: Skill in gathering information, looking for clues, finding hidden passages compartments and items, and so forth.
Knowledge: Information known about a variety of subjects.
Larceny: Thievery, stealth, and general debauchery.
Magic: The ability to twist the fabric of reality to your will.
Medicine: Skill in treating injuries and disease.
Mysticism: Development of inner power and Chakra.
Navigation: Abilityto find one’s way by land, air, sea, or star. Also covers piloting and crewing vehicles.
Perception: Keenness of senses and intuition.
Persuasion: The ability to convince another of the rightness of one’s thoughts, no matter how right or wrong they are.
