At last, it's that time again! Time for the character of the week:

Daramond Harkaaxe

Daramond Harkaaxe is the protagonist of Legacy Ascending. Rather, one of the protagonists. Captain Aquilys Zantiel shares that honor, and there is a whole host of supporting characters. But today, Daramond Harkaaxe takes the spotlight.

Daramond Harkaaxe was born on the world of Alterra in the province of Arkiria. Left with his grandparents at a young age, he grew up with a lot of anger towards his distant mother and deceased father. One day, the wizard Zoath came and warned of the coming of the Habbad invaders, and of the young Daramond's talent for wizardry. Reluctant to accept his fate, it is only when Alterra was ravaged by the Habbad fanatics that he agreed to flee with Zoath to the Sanctuary. There he bonded with many another magically talented youngster, but before he could learn any deep magic the Sanctuary world was too decimated by the Habbad. The Sanctuary students were scattered and sent to Habbad indoctrination camps. Daramond, however, vanished into the void.

Years later Daramond appeared again. Now he runs with Captain Aquilys—a friend from the Sanctuary—and her crew in their personal rebellion against the Habbad. Daramond, however, has his own motives, though none can say what they are. They can say that in the time he disappeared he gained much in knowledge of dark magic and necromancy, and that he seeks to expand those powers to some end. Though so far he has proven to be a man of conscience, he is driven and it is unknown how far he will go to achieve his goals. Though the most powerful member of Captain Aquilys's team, he is aloof and isolated from the group save for the special bond he holds with the Captain herself.

Daramond is always seen dressed in black, and this garb never varies. He is also never seen to be separated from his sword, Zaikliel, which is said to be the source of his power.
