I recently finished watching Richard Dawkin's Root of All Evil?, a Channel 4 documentary that preceded his bestselling book The God Delusion. As I have mentioned before, while I agree with much Dawkins has to say, I don't believe that all religion is as inherently bad as he claims it to be.
I was young when John McCain first ran for president, so I don't remember much of his "straight talk", but the impression I gathered was one of a principled man willing to rise above the political dog-and-pony show for the sake of his country.
